Tani and Josh pitched the “Flewnts Boorloo Block Party” concept to Perth Festival, the Block Party was based on the collaborative New York Style Block Parties Tani had experienced in her early career living in New York. With the help of her FN Focus team and the support of Perth Festival the first Block Party in February 2022 with the ambitious artist collaboration finale was a major success.

Flewnts Boorloo Block Party has grown from an all local event in 2022 (its first year) to hosting leading national hip hop artists collaborating with local artists on the iconic Block Party Finale.

Flewnts Boorloo Block Party has continued to grow, now including the Block Party Boom, a 3 date regional tour, all ages Block Party’s bringing national and local artists together and going on the road to the regions with a major show and collaborative finale. The tour also included community projects, school workshops and development and support for regional artists giving ongoing sustainable outcomes and relationships developed in each area.

The FN Focus team identified and worked with local artists in each region as part of the Block Party Boom tour. These artists were then invited back to Perth for the Block Party Battle to compete with other local metropolitan artists for a chance to perform at Flewnts Boorloo Block Party main event. Judges included national Hip Hop artists, Triple J hosts and the FN Focus team. The winner performed a solo set at FLEWNTS Boorloo Block Party and the runners up performed as part of the collaborative finale.
